Justin Chin was born in Singapore and raised in Malaysia. He is the award-winning author of three poetry collections: Gutted, Bite Hard and Harmless Medicine, as well as two collections of essays, Burden of Ashes and Mongrel, and a collection of performance texts, Attack of the Man-Eating Lotus Blossoms. He teaches at Mills College.
