Michael Cadnum’s thirtieth book, Nightsong, is a retelling of the Orpheus and Eurydice myth. His forthcoming novel, The King’s Arrow, tells the true story of the death of King William II of England. Michael Cadnum has been a National Book Award Finalist, a professional photographer and amateur archeologist, and he doesn’t like spiders.

Michael Cadnum has been a National Book Award Finalist and a Creative Writing Fellow of the National Endowment for the Arts. Cadnum’s twenty-eighth book The Dragon Throne–the third book in the Crusader trilogy that includes The Book of the Lion and The Leopard Sword–was published in the summer of 2005 by Viking. A new book, Nightsong, a re-creation of the Orpheus and Eurydice myth–will appear in 2006. A collection of many of Cadnum’s short stories is in preparation with Tachyon Press.
