Kathleen de Azevedo was born in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Her work has appeared in various publications including the Los Angeles Times, Boston Review, and Michigan Quarterly Review. Samba Dreamers, her novel on Brazilians in Hollywood, was published this year by the University of Arizona Press.
