Persecuted for religious reasons, Elizabeth Karaba left Czechoslovakia in 1969 for Pennsylvania”where she raised two altar boys and a daughter who was valedictorian of her Catholic high school. Thirty-eight years later, she is embarking on a new life by herself, as a writer and a San Franciscan.
