Maxine Hong Kingston’s most recent volume is Veterans of War, Veterans of Peace, an anthology she edited. A professor of English at U.C. Berkeley, Kingston has written several nonfiction books, including The Woman Warrior: Memoirs of a Girlhood Among Ghosts, China Men, Tripmaster Monkey, and The Fifth Book of Peace.
