Rebecca Solnit is a writer, historian, and activist. She lives in San Francisco; has received various awards, including the Lannan and the Western Writers of America Spur Award; and is the author of ten books, including most recently A Field Guide to Getting Lost and Hope in the Dark: Untold Histories, Wild Possibilities.
