Amy Tan is the author of five novels, including the recent Saving Fish from Drowning, as well as a screenplay, two children’s books, a memoir, and the libretto for an opera, The Bonesetter’s Daughter, which San Francisco Opera will premiere in 2008. She plays the dominatrix in the all-author garage band The Rock Bottom Remainders.
