Gene Yang received the Xeric Grant for Gordon Yamamoto and the King of the Geeks. His most recent graphic novel, American Born Chinese, was a National Book Award finalist and winner of the Printz and Eisner awards. He lives in the Bay Area and teaches at a Roman Catholic high school.
