October 3, 2012 - 7:00 PM
Just before Litquake formally rolls out this year, our friends at San Jose State’s Center for Literary Arts are bringing author Nick Flynn to the Bay Area, for three nights beginning October 2. Flynn has written three collections of poetry, including The Captain Asks for a Show of Hands, a play, and two memoirs, including Another Bullshit Night in Suck City, which was made into the film Being Flynn. His work has been featured in The New Yorker, Paris Review, National Public Radio’s This American Life, and The New York Times Book Review, and been translated into 14 languages.
Flynn is the winner of the PEN/Martha Albrand Award and fellowships from the Library of Congress and the Guggenheim Foundation. Being Flynn screens October 2 (Flynn will not be present for this showing). Flynn reads and signs books October 3; and, on October 4, he will be in conversation with author Tom Barbash. Admission is free for all events. Click here for start times and more info.
