Ina Coolbrith loved San Francisco. She called it the “city of my love and desire.” San Franciscans and Californians loved her, too, and during the 1915 Panama-Pacific International Exposition, she was named California’s first Poet Laureate. To mark the centennial anniversary, Coolbrith biographer Aleta George and special guests will take you on a San Francisco journey through the Civil War, the Overland Monthly days, the 1906 earthquake, and the dawn of the Great Depression, all seen through the lens of Coolbrith’s passionate, poetic eye.
