Heriberto Yépez is a “post-Mexican” journalist and is the author of Here is Tijuana!, the narcoliteratura border novel Al otro lado, and most recently, La increíble hazaña de ser mexicano.

1. What is your favorite book?- Ficciones by Borges.

- Jorge Luis Benjamin, sometimes referred to as Walter Borges.

- Not even Borges and Benjamin were perfect.

- I followed Julio Torri’s advice on that. For those of you who don’t know who Torri is, it’s impossible to explain here.

- “Realism.”

- When I can.
- 9. What is your greatest fear when you first turn in a manuscript?
- That it will end up being published.

- “We.”

- Making more money.

- Actually making some money out of writing.

- The migrant.
