A collaboration between Litquake and Literary Arts Presents Wordstock: Portland’s Book Festival, Lit Crawl Portland took to the streets of close-in Southeast Portland for the first time in 2015.
It has since moved the literary shenanigans to downtown Portland, while maintaining the same free-spirited, independent PDX spirt. Given Portland’s reputation as a longtime literary hub—and the home of coffee roasters and corner breweries, free-range backyard chickens, and quirky independent book shops—Lit Crawl Portland events occur anywhere from hops grow rooms, to ballet studios, to vegan bakeries. Hosts include such PNW-based literary fixtures as Tin House, YesYes Books, and Catapult, as well as presses and authors who've traveled from across the country for the annual Portland Book Festival (formerly Wordstock).
