About the Program
Marie Arana is an award-winning memoirist, novelist, biographer, and journalist—not to mention, in her role as the inaugural Literary Director at the LIbrary of Congress, a former director of the National Book Festival. Most recently, Arana has undertaken a "long overdue (Ms.) comprehensive overview of Latino communities in the United States. LatinoLand: A Portrait of America's Largest and Least Understood Minority has been called "a perfect representation of Latino diversity” (The Washington Post) and draws from hundreds of interviews and prodigious research to give readers “a work of…
